Summary: The Democracy Initiative (DI) is dedicated to the study of democracy and challenges to democracy, both past and present. In 2019, DI announced two new labs: The Deliberative Media Initiative Lab will address the factionalism in the current media ecosystem and the undermining of norms and trust in institutions, and the Democratic Statecraft Lab will address growing authoritarianism around the world and its challenges to democratic institutions.
